Elizabeth J Manoukian has been devoted to telling stories through song since her Arizona youth-theater days of her childhood. She wrote her first song at age 8. Elizabeth was raised on musical theater and piano lessons with a dash of heavy metal thrown into the mix. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Arts in music, Elizabeth toured for 7 years across the United States as the lead singer, keyboardist and co-lyricist of the nationally touring progressive rock band Phavian. In 2015, an a cappella arrangement of her original piece Siren’s Song won the award for best original song at the Los Angeles Regional Harmony Sweepstakes. Founded in 2017, Elizabeth’s Band Siren and the Selkies performs Elizabeth’s original songs inspired by the people she has known, the Rider-Waite tarot deck, mythology, astrology, and her personal experience.
